The Wonders of Baking Soda

The Wonders of Baking Soda
by Angie, R.N.

It’s pure and it’s safe!
I remember my mother using this terrific powder for her indigestion after a huge meal. She mixed a little in some water, released a big burp, and she was relieved of her heart burn. That was at least 60 years ago, and it still works today as well as it did then.

Over Christmas my son came to visit me. He, like my mother, has had acid indigestion for many years. For the first time I talked him into trying baking soda. I had no Tums or Rolaids so he was willing to try anything. I mixed up a 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda in a little water and handed it to him. He gave me a funny look, drank it down, and went to his room. 10 minutes later he came out of his room and said, “Gee Mom, that stuff really works. I feel much better.” I reminded him that his old mother knows some things.

I use baking soda for many things. I use it to freshen up my wash, take odor out of my fridge, and even clean my pots. Next time you have a dirty pot let it soak in warm water and baking soda.

I use baking soda in my foot bath, and even sprinkle a little in my shoes for freshness. It also takes mildew out of clothes or that wet towel you forgot in your gym bag. There are a lot of uses for this fine product which can be bought in any market for pennies – compared to other products that claim to do the same thing.

So I say try baking soda. It’s cheap, pure, and works wonders.
